More Than Just a Game Paris Edition, 15 February 2018

The inaugural edition of MTJG Paris is dedicated to E-sports, music licensing and updates from Europe.

The first session, chaired by Anne-Sophie Uccello-Jammes, Partner, LexCase will focus on the desirability and impact of E-sports regulation with the participation of Axelle Lemaire (former Innovation and Digital Affairs Minister in the French Government), the mind behind the regulatory framework in France; Emmanuel Martin, General delegate, Sell; Andreas Lober, Partner, Beiten Burkhardt; and Alexandre Rudoni, Partner, Allen & Overy.

The second session will focus on the Intellectual property law challenges and opportunity in E-sports. The panel, chaired by Alexandre Rudoni, Partner, Allen & Overy, will include Stéphan Euthine, President of France eSports association; Anne-Sophie Uccello-Jammes, Partner, LexCase; Delphine Langlet, Legal South Europe, Electronic Arts; Virginie Gringarten, Associate General Counsel, Ubisoft; and Jan Pommer, Director Team & Federation Relations, Turtle Entertainment.

The third session will deal with music licensing in video games. The panel chaired by Anne-Sophie Uccello-Jammes, Partner, LexCase will include Thomas Zeggane, Head of Legal and Business Affairs – Online and International Licensing and International Department, Sacem; Benjamin Charbit, Vice Chairman, SNJV; and Florent Boisneault, Senior Legal Counsel, Ubisoft Entertainment.

The final session, chaired by Noam Shemtov, Senior Lecturer, CCLS/QMUL will highlight the latest news from Europe on TPM, GDPR and Loot Boxes. Alexander Benesch, Senior European Legal Advisor, Intellectual Property Enforcement, Nintendo and Willy Duhen, International legal and privacy, Activision Blizzard will be joined on the panel by Andreas Lober, Partner, Beiten Burkhardt (Germany); Andrea Dufaure, Associate, Allen & Overy (France); Paul Gardner, Partner, Wiggin (UK); and Andrea Rizzi, Partner Osborne Clarke (Italy).
